Hey guys! My first few days in Florence have been awesome! I started my classes yesterday at 12! I have only had my special events management and Italian classes but I can tell I’m going to love them both.
So far I have gone up to the lookout to see the view of the city from one of the highest points (it’s quite a steep trek up), taken a walking tour around the city, taken a train out to Pisa to see the leaning tower, eaten at Gusta Pizza, the best pizza place Florence has to offer (it’s a 15 minute walk from me), and so much more! Yesterday my roommates and I climbed over the pillars of the Ponte alle Grazie to watch the sunrise. I can’t even put into words how amazing it was.
I’m in a really cute little apartment right in between the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio. There’s no air conditioner and it’s a little small but I still love it. It has character Especially Cassiah (my roommate) and I’s climb-in closet. You literally have to climb up two levels to get to the top!
I have also taken up running while I’m here since my roommate is a cross country runner. I have started running through the city and along the Arno river as of yesterday! I don’t know how I’ve actually gotten myself up every morning to do it since we’ve been walking almost 6 hours every day (if not more!) but somehow I managed
Here are some pictures from the trip so far:
